Women's Health

Women’s health is all about a special branch of medicine, and it’s focused on the right diagnoses and effective treatment of specific conditions and diseases that affect the emotional and physical well-being of female patients.

Basically, this branch includes a number of important focus areas and specialties, such as the following:

  • Sexually transmitted infections, birth control methods, and other gynecology matters;
  • Mammography and everything related to it;
  • Osteoporosis, which is a common condition that affects women of different ages;
  • Sexual health issues;
  • Hormone replacement therapy and menopause;
  • Childbirth and pregnancy;
  • Heart conditions;
  • Ovarian, breast and other existing female cancer types;
  • Benign conditions that affect the proper functioning of important female reproductive organs.

Each of these categories can be treated by taking specific medications, but they should be prescribed by competent doctors.

For example, some women may need hormone replacement therapy to ease their unpleasant and painful menopausal symptoms while decreasing the risk of having osteoporosis, heart conditions and other age-specific diseases.
